This week is Hearing Awareness Week. We are encouraging people to get in and have their hearing checked as part of their general wellbeing health check. “There are many people out there that are hard of hearing and are unaware of it. This can impact on people’s ability to function in their workplace effectively and also can impact on them socially, no matter what their age.

There are also people that have noticed a change in their ability to hear and do not get it checked, these types of losses should be checked immediately to rule out further medical issues.”

This week Ideal Hearing is running free screening tests by appointment and will also have show bags to give away. We will also have available to look at, household alarms such as smoke alarms, doorbell alarms, telephone alarms with a vibrating pager and a vibrating bed alarm as well. Also available to trial will be an FM system. These are used in a variety of ways. They can be used with or without a hearing aid and help in those situations where communicating one to one and in a crowd is difficult.

We also have available butterfly pins to raise funds for the Deafness Foundation.
